Vice President David Skanderson has a 20-year track record of providing practical solutions to legal and financial institution clients on regulatory compliance, risk management, litigation, and public policy matters. He specializes in the quantitative analysis of regulatory and litigation issues faced by financial institutions. Dr. Skanderson advises both large and small institutions on their fair lending compliance programs, and he has testified on behalf of large financial institutions in a variety of matters involving residential mortgage lending. He regularly publishes on fair lending regulatory compliance, and his work has been featured in ABA Bank Compliance and Law360. He is a frequent panelist at industry conferences, speaking on a range of topics involving fair lending compliance, including underwriting and pricing practices, risk assessment, and issues in the marketing of mortgage and credit card lending.
Prior to joining CRA, Dr. Skanderson worked in the Corporate Compliance Department of Washington Mutual Bank where he led departments responsible for fair lending statistical analysis and modeling, Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) compliance, and enterprise-wide compliance testing. Previously, he held senior manager positions at KPMG LLP and KPMG Consulting Inc., where he led statistically-focused projects on fair lending compliance and federal tax matters. He holds PhD and MA degrees in Economics from the University of Rochester, and a BA degree in Economics and Italian from California State University at Sacramento.
Vice President Andrew Tepperman testifies and consults on litigation matters involving life sciences, intellectual property, and antitrust economics. He has served as a testifying expert in life sciences matters on behalf of global pharmaceutical corporations. Dr. Tepperman frequently analyzes damages issues in the context of patent litigation and other commercial disputes, and has provided economic analyses of market definition, market power, and anticompetitive conduct. He has undertaken consulting engagements in a variety of industries with a focus on the life sciences sector, including pharmaceuticals, biologics, diagnostics, and medical devices. Dr. Tepperman has published articles in various journals and edited volumes, and has spoken at conferences and professional meetings, including the Canadian Bar Association’s Annual Competition Law Fall Conference.
Before joining CRA, Dr. Tepperman lectured at the University of Toronto, and undertook joint research funded by Industry Canada on the international determinants of patenting. He holds PhD, MA, and BA degrees in Economics from the University of Toronto.
