New Vice President Philip Kalmus Brings Expertise In Communications Markets

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mar. 25, 2014-- Charles River Associates (NASDAQ: CRAI), a worldwide leader in providing economic, financial, and management consulting services, today announced that Philip Kalmus has joined the firm as a vice president in the Antitrust & Competition Economics Practice based in London.

Dr. Kalmus regularly advises fixed and mobile operators in such areas as mergers, on-net/off-net price differentiation, network effects, spectrum and auctions, licensing frameworks, collective dominance, termination rates, and competition between infrastructure and virtual operators.

He has advised on mergers in bidding markets, mergers with non-price competition, margin squeeze, retroactive and share of demand rebates, information exchange, state aid in the financial sector, cartels, and damages in bidding markets.

Dr. Kalmus joins CRA from Compass Lexecon, where he was a senior vice president in the competition policy practice. Previously, he worked at LECG Corporation and NERA Economic Consulting. Dr. Kalmus works in English, German, Spanish, and French. He holds a PhD degree in Economics from the London School of Economics, an MSc degree in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, and a BA degree in Economics from Cambridge University.
